Well, it's fortune cookie time again. And this one is SO ironic.
The message actually says "mediocity". Is that not fantastic!? Talk about some serious irony. (I do hope I am using that accurately.) Either way, some mediocure company produced such a message. Funny.
Anyway, while I do feel that these messages are completely ... rubbish, I guess there are some hints of truth in there, eh? See Revelation 3:15. Certainly Jesus wants us to be completely sold out to him... hot and cold. Ideal temperatures for both. Passionate. Extreme. All in.
Dictionary.com says that it is "of only ordinary or moderate quality; neither good nor bad; barely adequate". Yuck. Who would ever want to be that!? But somehow, many of us end up that way. We serve our churches with mediocrity. We love Jesus with mediocrity. We create mediocre places for people to encounter the living God.
No more! Not for me. No thank you. I choose "to be broke or to be wealthy ... never accepting mediocrity!"
